The University of Sassari  is located in Italy in the beautiful island of Sardinia, a global center for tourism, technology and international trade.

UNISS, founded in 1558, has a strong tradition and it gave to Italy several artists, scientists and distinguished personalities including two presidents of the Republic and the Nobel prize Daniel Bovet. Today, UNISS is exponentially growing and stands out in the Italian Academic scenario being the 3rd middle-size Italian University in terms of excellence in scientific achievements and the 1st in for international academic cooperation. [metaslider id=422] With over 50 international collaboration agreements, a fruitful visiting professor program and enrolling more international students than any other Italian University the ability to create an international environment is one of the major credit of UNISS (CENSIS 2014). UNISS is structured in an administrative and a scientific branch.

The administrative branch serves the scientific branch building a model for a University of the 21st century

in particular the Research Office is one of the major credit with high qualified multilingual employers with long expertise in taking care of international grants. For the scientific branch, in terms of infrastructures it is present the Facility Center, a research floor of over 1000 m2, with cutting edge instruments. Researchers can benefit of internal and external animal facilities (located at the “Istituto Zooprofilattico della Sardegna”) for the use of mice, rats, rabbits and swine as animal models.
